Hi Shazza,
Only came across this blog a couple of weeks ago and just had to have a go at this challenge.

I have put in all the other elements the clock and the red title.

Another entry from.....

Kim Ahern - Brothers

Hi Shazza

Here is my take on the January layout. I’ve met all the criteria.

I hate doing B&W pics, but when I said I was doing an 80s pic, my hubby wanted this one of him and his brother done.  So I’ve made a lot of the flowers myself and handrawn on them (as I did the clock!) or stamped them.

Thanks for the inspiration – this is my first time actually participating in your site’s challenges and I really enjoyed it J

Cheers
KimA

Kim!! You have done a fantastic job of the challenge! What a great photo of your brothers back in 1989. I especially remember the Haircuts back then....... Love how you went with the whole black and white theme with that splash of red. Great work!! Nice to see you join in FS2S and good luck!! Cheers Shazza

:O)
Sarah Cooper

Well I didn't have an 80's picture but I dug out the oldest I had on hand.
1996:
Greg dressed in a Kilt for a Church Youth Group function.
2010:
Greg dressed in full Kilt and Bonnie Prince Charlie for our Wedding.

Though we've only been married 3 months...
I've known my husband a loooooong time.

Journaling:
My Hero is Made
It may have taken
another 14 years to get
you to wear a kilt again,
but it was worth the
wait... a Hero
is always worth
the wait.
My Hero:
Greg

Well done Sarah! A great idea to do a comparison photo, great distressing of your base card stock, it looks great with the photos against it! Nice work on the journaling. Well done! cheers

I think I've covered all added criteria: use clock image- check; red title - check; use photos from the 80's - check (this is me on the photo :). It was taken on 1981).
Here's a link to my post with this lo.
Thank you so much for another great inspiration!

Another great inspirational entry.....

Lena Schreijenberg - Time Flies

Hi Shazza,

Hereby I'll send you my take on the 9 to 5 challenge!
I started with a blank piece of cardstock, put a layer of gesso on it and when that was dry I sprayed red and green glimmermist on the page.
The flowers come from a paper napkin (used only the top layer of the napkin) and glued it on the page with gel medium.
The numbers of the clock are stamped and heat embossed. The hands are cut out of black paper.
The title is cut out of a piece of red cardstock.
The border and the red around the pics is made with puffy paint.

I hope you will like it....

XOXO, Lena

Hey Lena!
Great job of the challenge, love the colors you used and those napkin flowers have turned out divine :) Three great little pics of you and your clock is awesome. Well done...Love it!! - CheersShazza

Another Fabulous submission from........

Jen Fawkes - [not] a 9 to 5 job

Hi Shazza, here is my entry for January's S2S competition "9-to-5".
I had to think long and hard about this one, especially the 1980's photos (I have lots of them but not many that I share!!).
However inspiration today has resulted in this layout about my nursing graduation in 1982. It's a terrible photo but a suitable addition to my Book of Me.
Thanks for another great inspiration challenge.
Jen Fawkes

Hi Jen!  I love this photo of you in your nurses uniform from 1982. What a fantastic career you chose! You have covered all the criteria and have done an excellent job of the challenge...Great Work!! Cheers shazza

Mary's submission......

burr...

Hi Shazza,
This is me in winter of 1982. I had a
friend who was into photography and
wanted me to model for him.

What I did was the technique of water
distressing, and I made my flowers,
first for everything.

Here is our January Movie Extra.....

Mary Steinmetz

Here is a little bit of information about Mary :)

Hi...I'm Mary Steinmetz from Wisconsin. I have been doing
scrapbooking for about 12 years. I get my inspiration from
my lovely family. I have 2 beautiful daughters and 2 crazy
British shorthair cats, and my adorable hubby.
What got me into scrapbooking, is that I wanted to write a
book, but since my writing isn't that great, I decide to
my make story book into pictures. I have made over 7 albums
and finally I'm doing a book on myself. I hope in years to
come my family will remember me and how much love I have
poured into these books.

Here are some of Mary's favourite layouts :)

Working on Being so Adorably Cute

Hi dear Shazza,

Wow first month on the Design Team...how exciting! Thank
you so much for the
honour.

Please find my January LO attached, with the inspiration
from the fun movie
Working Nine to Five...still singing the song in my head
now!

I have used a piccie of my littlies in 1983, looking so
sweet.
Used the
lovely colour tonings from the poster,& used 2 types
of red alphas for the
title as well. I have added a clock in with the cluster
of embellies, as in
the photo I am pouring bubbles from a toy clock bottle
that the kiddies
played with.

This was a great movie challenge to work with & hope
all our scrappers enjoy
playing along too this month.

Cheers, Deb xx

We have another new DT member to introduce....

Deb Clark

I can hardly believe the joy that is in my life, especially the love I have for paper crafts, scrap booking & card making.
Scrap booking came as a revelation to me in early 2003, & I haven’t spent one day since then, when I don’t work on, or plan a page or a card, or read a scrap booking mag, or hop on my blog, or check out the net for ideas.
I mainly work on LO’s of my long lasting & very dear husband, grown up children & their partners & families, & the 5 kitty cats we have between us. I really love scrapping the few photos of the early life of my parents, & also pages about my garden, or buildings or beautiful scenery.
I have met the most amazing women along my scrap booking way, & I am constantly in awe of their work, which in turn inspires me to try new ideas & techniques.
I love simple clean lines, but I also love shabby distressed LO’s as well - you can tell I am a Gemini, the best of both worlds, I reckon! I love using fabric, & ribbons & laces, paint on CS & paper, & my go-everywhere-with-me distressing kit & of course cutter!!
I really hope to be able to add a little something to this fabulous 'From Screen 2 Scrap challenge blog, & thank you Shazza for giving me the opportunity.
You can catch me at http://debisjoy.blogspot.com

 Playtime

I hope the LO is OK. It has clocks and a red title. I also tried to have a few office items on the LO to tie in with the film so there are staples, paper clips and note paper plus I used my note paper punch at the top. - Karen

Come and meet our new DT member......

Karen Willaims

Here's some information on Karen.......

My bio
I am a 36 year old mother of three who has been scrapbooking since the birth of my daughter three and half years ago ( Nancy thinks the half is very important). Originally from the UK, I am currently living in the Netherlands, hence my new found SAHM status, ( In the UK I was a teacher). I like simple scrapping, half an hour is my average time on a LO, and with three children in the house you can understand why. I set myself the challenge of making 365 LOs this year, I stopped count a month ago when I got to 370!
I love chocolate, pizza boxes from the postman, day trips to Amsterdam, shoes, crime novels, knitting, CSI on TV and baking.
I hate having my hair cut, bananas, that I still bite my nails, and my oven. ( the oven is a long story)

Looking After Baby Adam Around the Clock , 24-7

Here is Adam and I back in 1984. Adam is a few weeks old in this photo.
Wow!! I am 25 :)
Boy! Nobody explained to me that Motherhood was a full on 24-7 around the clock job!
I wouldn't have changed it for anything!!
I loved being a mum :)

Sandi Robinsons submission......

If I Could Turn Back Time

As soon as I saw the poster I was transported back to my favourite decade...the 80's!! I had a rummage through some old photo's & became quite engrossed...there were many I'd completely forgotten about!! The one I have used is a real eye opener for me....I always used to hate the fact that I was 'curvier' than my contemporaries, who all seemed to be stick thin!! I always felt fat, but looking at this photo I'd give my eye teeth to be that 'fat' again!!!! Laughing out loud !!
So with 'time' in mind I chose the title & then went with the three criteria...clock/red title/photo from the eighties to put together my LO!!
Thanks for the memories & yes...the inspiration to stick to my Weight Watchers plan for 2011...Winking smile

A Part of History

9 to 5 – loved, loved this movie and I was torn between taking a serious look at actually working 9 to 5 in the 1980’s and having some real fun with Dolly Parton  ..... but decorum won out and I’ve focused on what I was doing in the 80’s (yep I’m old!).  I’ve added in the red title and a clock for good measure.  So here’s, A part of history, and I was, quite literally.
Can’t wait to see what others make of the poster this month.
Cheers,
Jane

Dale Tiernan's submission....

 At Work

Hi Shazza,
Here is my sub for the 9 to 5 layout. I've chosen a photo of me at work circa 1987 or so with two of my colleagues. Look at our 80's hairdos. I've gone for all pink, unusual for me. Hence, I couldn't use a red title but I've definitely got the 80's photo and a clock.
Kind regards,
Dale

Chantal Vandenberg's submission....

Book Week

Hi Shazza,
Here's my take on the movie poster "9 to 5"!  I've included all three criteria; my title is in red; "Book Week", I've a clock in there (stamped on Kraft and cut out), and I've used a picture from the 80's - 2 photos from 1983 - me at my Book Week parade at primary school - dressed as Huckleberry Finn!  I loved doing this challenge - it's great to scrap some old photos and I had a blast using up old alpha sticker for the background!!!  I also drew my colour scheme and placement of colours from the poster!  Great challenge!
Cheers,
Chantal Vandenberg

80's Child

Hi Shazza!!
I can't believe the new year is upon us!
I just wanted to send in my '9 To 5' submission. I'm so excited that we're using the poster I suggested :) I liked all the bright colors in the poster, and of course the great hair the ladies' have too! My layout is called '80's Child', because, well, I was a child in the 80's!
Thanks!!
Jen

Natalie Elphinstone's submission....

Me and Em

Dear Shazza,
Please find attached my layout for January inspired by the 9 to 5 poster.
I was inspired by the general colour scheme of the poster - yellows and orange, and have included all the extra criteria. There's a clock down in the bottom corner, a red title (well..... kinda! It's a bit red-ish and blue!) and my photo is of my and my sister Emily taken in 1985. Back in the days where our mum dressed us the same and set us up for some cute family pictures :-) Had lots of fun with this one!
Hope you have a joyous Christmas season, and a happy New Year
xx

Michelle Beeby's submission....

 Forever and Always

I think I have everything, Red Title, Clock, I made this into an overlay and then used it for my background on my yellow layer, hope that counts? Photo from the 80's... just, this was our "official" engagement photo taken back in 1989 so only just makes it! LOL - michelle

Marisa Page's submission.....

Parenthood, not a Nine to Five Job

Hi Shazza,
Well another awesome poster to work with for this month.
For my layout ‘Parenthood not a nine to five job’ I have
included all the criteria: a photo from the 1980’s which is of
myself, hubby and the twins at 6 months of age. A red title and a clock.
The hands on my clock point to the 9 and 5. I also
used the colours from the poster as well, yellows and reds.
I am looking forward to seeing all of your creations
using this poster.
Cheers,
Marisa
